Create multiple, three strand braids working across the round of the head. Continue braiding under the occipital bone staggering the braids. Use a double prong clip to hold the ends together.
Starting behind the ear on the top section, hold the tail of a braid, pull two sections of the braid off to the left side and hold with the thumb and forefinger of your left hand while holding the third strand with the right hand.
Gently slide the hair in the thumb and forefinger of the left hand up the third strand of the right hand.
This will create a ruching effect with the hair.
Using a bobby pin, slide the pin through the ruching to secure the hair.
Continue across the head leaving the tail from the middle section out to be re-braided later with other center sections.
Braid the remaining strands together and continue ruching the hair until all the hair is up.
Tuck any remaining hair away.
The end result has a look of classic innocence with a playful touch.
